Registration

Registration of new arrival

Registration of new arrival

Anyone who moves into an apartment must register with the registration authority within two weeks of moving in, but at the earliest from the time of actual occupancy.

To register you need the following documents:

  • current official identification document of all persons to be registered; if children do not have an ID or passport, the birth certificate is required
  • for foreign documents: passport/ID and, if available, electronic residence permit
  • if you do not appear in person, a power of attorney, the ID cards of the person to be registered and the authorized person, as well as the signature of the person required to register on the power of attorney are also required (does not apply to spouses and minors unter the age of 18 who move to the same address)
  • if moving from abroad; marriage certificate/divorce decree; for children: birth certificate; all documents with official translation or in international language
  • download the landlord certificate below or apply online via Service-BW (if you own the property: proof by land register extract or purchase contract)

Please note that depending on the case, additional documents that are not listed may be required.

Re-registration (moving within Bietigheim-Bissingen)

Anyone who moves into an apartment must register with the registration office within two weeks of moving in, at the earliest from the date of actual occupation, in accordance with § 17 Para. 1 of the Federal Registration Act.

You will need the following documents to re-register within Bietigheim-Bissingen:

  •  current official identification document of all persons to be registered, if no ID or passport is available for children, the birth certificate is required
  •  for foreign documents, passport/ID card and, if available, electronic residence permit
  • If you do not appear in person, a power of attorney, the identity documents of the person to be registered and the authorized person, as well as the signature of the person required to register on the power of attorney are also required (does not apply to spouses and minors under the age of 18 who are moving to the same address)
  • Certificate of residence (in the case of ownership: proof by means of an extract from the land register or purchase contract)

Deregistration abroad

Anyone who moves out of an apartment and does not move into a new apartment in Germany must deregister with the registration authority within two weeks of moving out in accordance with § 17 Para. 2 of the Federal Registration Act. Deregistration is possible at the earliest one week before moving out; the registration register is updated on the date of moving out.

You will need the following documents to deregister abroad:

  • current official identification document
  • full address abroad
  • If you do not appear in person, you will also need a power of attorney, the ID cards of the person to be deregistered and the authorized person, as well as the signature of the person required to register on the power of attorney (does not apply to spouses and minors under the age of 18 who are moving away from the same addresse.

Identity documents

Applying for an identity card

You will need the following documents to apply for an identity card:

  • previous identity card or, if not available, passport or children's passport, if not available, a current original birth certificate
  • always a current original birth certificate when first issued
  • Declaration of German nationality (regardless of nationality, the form must be completed!!). The form can be found further down on this page.
  • For children under the age of 16, the child must appear in person, at least one parent must also be present at the application, and a declaration of consent from both legal representatives and their identity documents are also required. The declaration of consent can be found further down on this page. If there is only one legal representative, a current custody certificate is required.
  • a current biometric passport photo (for a fee of 6 €, digital passport photos can be taken at our self-service terminal from a height of 1.25 m)
  • Fee for under 24 year olds 22.80 € and over 24 year olds 37.00 €. The fee must be paid at the time of application.

Applying for a temporary identity card

You will need the following documents to apply for a temporary ID card:

  •  previous identity card or, if not available, passport or children's passport, if not available, a current original birth certificate
  •  always a current original birth certificate when first issued
  •  Declaration of German nationality (regardless of nationality, the form must be completed!!). You will find the form further down on this page.

  • For children under the age of 18, the child must appear in person, at least one parent must also be present at the application, and a declaration of consent from both legal representatives and their identity documents are also required.   • Fee for under 24 year olds 37.50 € (express passport 69.50 €) and over 24 year olds 70 € (express passport 102 €). The fee must be paid at the time of application

Applying for temporary passports

A temporary passport can only be issued under certain conditions and for urgent reasons, e.g. only if the delivery time for an express passport is no longer sufficient.

You will need the following documents to apply for a temporary passport:

  • Passport or, if not available, identity card or children's passport, if not available, a current original birth certificate
  • always a current original birth certificate when first issued
  • Declaration of German nationality (regardless of nationality, the form must be completed!!). The form can be found further down on the page.
  • For children under the age of 18, the child must appear in person, at least one parent must also be present at the application, and a declaration of consent from both legal representatives and their identity documents are also required. Certificates

Registration certificates Application at the Citizens' Office

You will need the following documents for the issue of registration certificates:

  • current official identification document
  • Fee: 7,50 €
  • Personal appearance (if you do not appear in person, you will also need a power of attorney, the identity documents of the person granting the power of attorney and the authorized person, as well as the signature of the person granting the power of attorney on the power of attorney).

Applying for a registration certificate online

You can apply for a registration certificate online if you have a Service-bw.de account. It will then be sent to your Service-bw.de mailbox free of charge. You will need the online ID function of your identity card or residence permit.

 

 

Life certificates

You will need the following documents to issue life certificates:

  • current official identification document
  • Fee: 11.50 € (free of charge if presented for pension purposes)
  • personal presentation

 

Household certificate

The following documents are required to process your selected request:

  • current official identification document
  • last child benefit notice showing the child benefit number

 

Official confirmation

Confirmation of signatures

You will need the following documents to confirm signatures:

  • personal appearance with presentation of a current official identification document
  • Fee 7.50 €. The fee is due immediately.

 

Confirmation of copies

You will need the following documents to confirm copies:

  • original documents + copies made by yourself, if applicable
  • Fee 7.50 € per page. The fee is due immediately. Fee for copies, if applicable
  • Confirmation of German civil status documents is not possible. Please contact the relevant Vital Records Office.

 

Extracts from the Federal Central Register

Police clearance certificates - simple or extended

You will need the following documents to apply for a certificate of good conduct:

  • personal interview with a current official identification document
  • The purpose for which you require the certificate of good conduct must be stated
  • For private purposes (e.g. job application), the certificate of good conduct will be sent directly to the person making the application
  • For a public authority, it is sent directly to the authority. When submitting the application, the address of the authority and, if applicable, the file number must be stated.
  • Extended certificate of good conduct: please bring along the relevant proof in which you are asked to apply for this.
  • Fee 13 €. The fee must be paid at the time of application

Apply for a police clearance certificate online
You can apply for a police clearance certificate online on the website of the Federal Office of Justice.
You will need the online ID function of your identity card or residence permit.

Extract from the central trade register

You will need the following documents for the extract from the central trade register:

  • for private individuals: in person with a current official identification document
  • for legal entities: Power of representation must be presented
    current extract from the commercial register, if applicable
  • Fee 13 €. The fee must be paid at the time of application.

Driver's license

Driver's license

Driving license applications can be collected and handed in at the citizens' offices. The Ludwigsburg District Office is responsible for processing the applications.

Commercial matters

Commercial registration

You will need the following documents to register a business:

  • current official identification document
  • completed standardized form (available from the Bürgeramt, Löchgauer Str. 22)
  • if you have a power of attorney, a written power of attorney and identification of the person granting the power of attorney.
  • Extract from the commercial register (for registered companies)
  • in the case of a GmbH in formation, a copy of the notarized formation contract.
  • Fee 23.00 € or 34.50 €. The fee must be paid upon registration.

  • current official identification document

Lost property

Lost property can be handed in at both the Bietigheim and Bissingen Citizens' Offices. Lost property can only be collected from the Bietigheim Citizens' Office

 

Submission of applications for social assistance and basic income support (no processing)

Applications for social assistance / basic security can be submitted to the citizens' offices. Processing is carried out by the Ludwigsburg District Office. Further information can be found on the Ludwigsburg District Office website.

Issuance of applications for dog tax de-registration, registration and re-registration

Applications can be collected from the citizens' offices or downloaded here.
The tax office is responsible for processing.

 

Fishing license for life

You need the following documents for the fishing license:

  • Fishing license (from the age of 16):
  • current official identification document
  • passport photo
  • Previous fishing license or, if not available, proof of expertise
  • Fee:
  • 1 year ->  23.50 € (from 01.01.2024)
  • 5 years -> 90,00 € (from 01.01.2024)
  • 10 years -> 166.00 € (from 01.01.2024)

The fee must be paid at the time of application.

 

Youth fishing license

You need the following documents for the youth fishing license:

(10-16 years of age):

  • Application must be made by at least one legal representative
  • Current identity document of the young person and the legal representative passport photo

Fee 11,50 €. The fee must be paid at the time of application
